Meghan Markle and Prince Harry used to 'worry' Queen Elizabeth by checking them out

Queen Elizabeth used to visit Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “quite regularly” because she was “concerned about how unhappy and restless they were”, according to one royal commentator.

Speaking with Royal Round Up host Pandora Forsyth, royal correspondent Richard Palmer shared that Queen Elizabeth used to stop by Frogmore Cottage. The reason? Supposedly to check on Harry and Meghan.

“I know that when the Sussexes were living in Windsor, the Queen was dropping by to see them regularly,” Palmer said, per Express.

He went on to say that the monarch was concerned about how they were adjusting to real life after their wedding in May 2018.

The commenter continued: “She was worried about how unhappy and restless they were. So, I was told at one point that she was going to see them to make sure they were okay.

“And the fact that they’ve moved too, now, she can’t exactly drop by for a cup of tea,” replied Forsyth. Harry and Meghan purchased a nine-bedroom home in Montecito, California in the summer of 2020. The move came after they announced their decision to step down as senior royals earlier that year.

Balmoral Castle, Queen Elizabeth’s summer home in Scotland, may welcome some guests from California. A source told The Sun that “staff have been told to expect the full roster of royals, including Harry, Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet.”

The monarch, who reportedly invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Balmoral Castle, used to stop by Frogmore Cottage to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “quite regularly” when they lived in Windsor.

More recently, Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie has lived in Frogmore Cottage with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their son August.
